It’s important that every visitor to 4A is able to join us safely and leave healthy.

In line with current government health advice and requirements, 4A is taking a number of actions to make sure that we minimise possible contact or spread of COVID-19. We ask for your kind cooperation with and awareness of these actions in your visit. 4A is a COVIDSafe venue.

What you need to know before visiting

Where do I enter the gallery?

Please enter through 4A’s atrium (the green doorway) at 181 — 187 Hay Street, and exit through the same doorway. Ring the doorbell if unattended.

Do I need to book in advance?

In line with safe social distancing rules, there is a maximum of 8 visitors allowed within the gallery space at one time. In peak visitation periods – including the first week of exhibitions – online registrations are required to confirm that we can accommodate your visit.

4A staff will be carefully monitoring numbers of visitors.

A sign-in system at the gallery’s atrium will be prepared for visitors before entering the space. Under COVIDSafe venue requirements, 4A will be recording the names, mobile numbers and/or email addresses of all staff, volunteers, visitors and contractors for a period of at least 28 days. All information will be stored confidentially and securely.

Additional City of Sydney sign in processes are also in place for staff, visitors and contractors.

What’s different?

When you visit 4A from July 2020, please be aware of these important visitor requirements:

  • Entry to 4A is limited to a maximum of eight (8) visitors at any one time.
  • In peak visitation periods – including the first week of exhibitions – registrations via 4A’s Eventbrite are required to confirm that we can accommodate your visit.
  • All visitors are required to sign in and provide details for contact tracing purposes before entering the gallery space
  • Inside the gallery space, please keep a social distance of at least 1.5 metres from others.
