Haymarket 2050 is a multidisciplinary, creative tourism art project that reimagines Sydney's Haymarket through augmented memory and speculative futures. Led by interdisciplinary creative directors Gene Leung and Dan Tse of INJURY and REAL PARENT, this project aims to record the stories and memories of our cultural and community life in our Chinatown.

This initial phase of Haymarket 2050 invites Sydneysiders and visitors alike to rediscover Haymarket’s most iconic cultural landmarks — blending personal memory, public participation, and soft technology.

Your stories will help form the base of a new media public art project: an augmented reality (AR) walking tour through Chinatown and interactive exhibition shaped through the lens of Gene and Dan. Their work as INJURY and REAL PARENT is a synthesised offering of digital filmmaking, 3D worldbuilding and fashion, inspired equally by their Hong Kong heritage and cyber-ethereal aesthetics.

This bespoke exhibition presents the enthralling signature practice of INJURY and REAL PARENT across digital film and sculptural fashion, and glimpse into the visual style of Haymarket 2050.
